Can't copy from Office 2007 into other apps

Denis

With Office 2002, we are able to copy text from Outlook/Word/Excel, and then
paste that into fields in other apps - i.e., copying a password from a Word
doc, and then pasting it into a field in an online form from something else.
This has always worked with Office XP, but it's not working now with 2007.
Ideas"?

I can right-click and drag to highight the original text, and Copy it, as
usual. If I try to Paste it in an Office app, it works just fine. But in
the "other" apps (multiple ones), when I right-click to bring up the Edit
menu, "Paste" is greyed out, and I'm not given the option to paste it in the
desired field. The text appears to be on the Clipboard, because I can go
back to Word (or Notepad, or whatever), and Paste there; it just won't seem
to allow me to Paste it in a non-Office app. (Again, doing this the exact
same way on our machines that still have 2003 work just fine.)

Thanks.

Hi Denis,

Is this a work computer? It may be that some security settings are in place, on your system or on a particular website, or that you
have a 3rd party add-in of some type interfering, or that a 3rd party app isn't 'seeing' a particular app version.

For example, if you type text in Word 2007 and go to Google can you paste the text into the Google search box?

Thanks, Bob.

Yes, it's a work computer, and I'll see what happens with the Google search
box.

Still, the main question remains; when this exact same machine was using
Office 2003, there was no trouble copying to the 3rd party apps. Same
machine, same OS (XP), same settings, same 3rd party apps... only change is
the upgrade to 2007.

Hi Denis,

That 'only change', an upgrade from Word 2003 to 2007 has a lot of room for 'adjustments'

- differences in security

- differences in registry entries (policies or defaults or permissions)

- corrupt or damaged file or template

- differing template or other asset physical location relative to the document.

- an add-in that was compatible with Word 2003 but not 2007
etc.

Thanks, Bob.
