Can't create automatic format filter

R

Rick Kasten

I have a personal email address that auto-forwards all emails to my
work address. I want to create auto-format all those emails in my
work Outlook 2003 client to change the font and color for all emails
with the To: field as my personal email. But the format does not
work.

I have the filter setup in the Advanced Tab: "Field To contains
(e-mail address removed)", and the format changes the color to blue. When
an email is addressed to "(e-mail address removed)" the email appears as
blue in my Outlook. When an email is addressed to "Rick Kasten
<[email protected]>" no formatting occurs. This doesn't seem right
to me. The To: field contains the string I'm looking for...so what
gives?

Try using "E-mail Account contains (e-mail address removed)" instead...see if
that works better.

Odd...it works here for me on Outlook 2003. Do you have any other automatic
formatting rules active?

If you can, please quote the relevant text of previous messages in the
thread when replying...it helps those of us who hide previously read
messages in our newsreaders. :)
