Can't delete a button

I have created a button that now I can't delete it, can't
right click to get properties. Nothing as far as I can
tell is locked or protected.

Did you use the Command Button tool from the Control ToolBox? You need to be
in Design Mode ; display the ToolBox and click on the first button.
