can't delete a sub-project which was inserted into a master projec

I have inserted a sub-project into a master project and now cannot delete it.
I have tried to delete the line and have even deleted the sub-project from
thefolder in which all of the projects reside. Any ideas?

Hi Mike,

Are you by chance using Project 2003 without any service packs?
(Check Help > About Microsoft Office Project for service pack info.
This error occurred without service pack 1 applied to Project 2003.
Project 2003 is up to Service Pack 3 and you should install all
service packs.
