Can't delete a task on a project schedule

I have a user who created a new project schedule by copying a previously
published project and then editing the project to conform to his project's
requirements. He saved, published and checked-in the project. When he
looks at the project details on Project Server there is a Task ID 0 which is
not visible when you open the project using Project Pro 2007. We've opened
the project and even tried the Go To command to get to Task ID 0 with no
success.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how we can delete Task ID 0?

Thanks so much,

To remove task with ID 0 open the project in professional from the tools menu
select options- view- uncheck "show project summary task"

Hope this helps

Hi,

I tried unchecking the "Show project summary task" but I could not longer
see any of the summary tasks in the project. I found out that Task ID 0 was
being seen as the summary task for the whole project and could not be
deleted. I renamed the task to be the same as Task ID 1 and deleted Task ID
1. Not a very elegant way to fix the problem, but it worked and my user is
happy.

Thanks so much,
