cant delete file

when I open word there is a file Document1 with some writing I did. I cannot
find that file any where so I can delete it..I erase it and try to save
it--it goes to a different name..
how can I get rid of that file..

Document1 is normally blank. That you have writing in it indicates
that a template was updated with that writing. This is probably
normal.dot. If you open that as a template, you can probably delete
the writing and save the template. Alternately, when Word is closed,
you can rename normal.dot to something else and Word will recreate a
default normal.dot the next time it is opened.

thanks-It was a hassel but finally worked
