In starting a new document in Office 2000 Word, I have
just now encountered a header that takes up the top third
of the page and a footer that is a few lines deep.
I don't want headers and footers and can't delete them or
cut them or anything like that.
I tried to put some type in them to see if they would let
me delete them then, but no.
This is a Windows 98SE computer with 256MB ram and Office
2000.
I ran a new virus scan and came up clean. I ran AdAware
and found a bunch of things to get rid of.
I can call up an old doc and "save as" then take
everything off and make it be a new letter or whatever,
but I can't start a new blank document without these huge
headers.
I am trying to find the disk for this computer to try to
repair, but haven't come up with the correct set yet.
Is my next step to reinstall - or is there another way?
Thanks
