Can't delete object from slide master

Charlie

I was trying to edit a presentation prepared by someone else. These are very
simple slides with two text boxes separated by a heave black line. No matter
what I do, I cannot remove the black line. I can't select it. If I insert a
new slide, it is still there. If I choose a new slide format, it's still
there. If I import a picture as a slide background, it's still there.

I could have redone the entire presentation from scratch ny now, but this is
bugging me because I don't know what the problem is.

Can anyone help?

Charlie,
My guess is that it is on the master slide. Do View--> Master--> Slide
Master and see if you can remove it there. (Be sure to check that you remove
it from both the content master and the slide master!)

Thanks, that took care of it. I have created many presentations, but never
used this feature. I guess you really do learn something new every day!

If I import a picture as a slide background, it's still there.

If you say "import a picture", do you insert it with Insert - Picture or
with Format - Background? Is the line still there, if you choose a solid
color with Format - background?

Best regards,
Ute
