We have MS Project Server 2002, and have an orphan project
that can't be deleted. When the project was checked out,
the person's PC crashed. That user account was merged
with another user account before the problem was noticed.
The project can't be opened read/write because the MS
Project 2002 Client shows it as checked out to a non-
existant account that was merged into another account.
Similarly, the web-based admin tool says it can't be
deleted because it is checked out. But, the web tool
shows it owned by the remaining merged account, not the
one that the MS Client shows. However, the web-based
admin tool does not show it checked out. Since it's not
checked out, it can't be forced checked in, and it can't
be deleted.
Any ideas on how to get rid of this project? It was
entered as a test, and has resources tied to it that we
need to free up.
