Can't Display Help

B

Bob Brannon

Hello,

I am using Access 2000, on XP Home SP1.

Every time I hit F1 for help, I get the following error message "Microsoft
Access can't display Help. Microsoft Access cannot install the necessary
files due to Windows installer error 1606. Feature ID not registered."
They help displays anyway.

I have manually installed the necessary help files, I have used the "windows
installer cleanup utility" following KB article instructions and the problem
keeps recurring.

Can anyone help with this?

Bob,

I am reposting an answer to the same question that you asked earlier. You haven't indicated to
us that you have reinstalled IE 6 yet. Try that first.

Tom

Hi Bob,

Have you tried KB article # 318378, as suggested by Wayne Morgan in one of his replies (4/2/2004

I'm pretty sure that reinstalling IE is going to be the key to solving your Help file problems.
