Can't Find Serial #

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I lost the box that my Office 2008 came in; i knew I should've written it down. Any way, I'm trying to install it on another MAC, but that won't go to well without a serial. Is there any way i could open up an application, like Word for example, and it will have the Serial?
I would really appreciate the help guys/gals

The serial number on the box is not used for installation, What you need is
the Product Key which is on the sleeve containing the disk.

For the record, you might want to check the EULA for whatever edition of
Office 2008 before installing on an additional Mac.

.... that sleeve got torn to shreds. i actually had to go and get one of this CD cleaning devices, to help make the CD work. any way, could I use the Product ID, the one I see when I open Word for example, to get & or request my serial #?

Nope, two different kind of keys.
