Can't find View > Toolbars

Hi

I want to create a custom toolbar for a form I'm creating in Access. I know
that in order to do this I need to go to View and then Toolbars and then
Customize. Unfortunately Toolbars is not appearing as an option in my View
menu, whether I'm looking in Design or Form view.

I'm using Access 2000 and Windows 2000. Anyone got any ideas as to why
Toolbars is missing and what I can do about it?

Thanks
Ian

You can just right click a blank area on a toolbar to choose Customize. If
you want to use the View menu I think it needs to be with just the database
window open (no forms, etc. can be open).

Hi Bruce

Thanks for the response. I've tried both your suggestions with no luck I'm
afraid. Right clicking a blank area of the toolbar does not produce a menu
(for me, at least), and Toolbars does not appear in the View menu from the
Database Window, even with all other forms etc. closed. Any other ideas?

Thanks
Ian

Do you see anything at all when you right click (alternate click, I guess I
should say) the toolbar or menu bar?

No - right clicking has no effect whatsoever.

Then I have to tell you I'm stumped. I did some searching of my own through
newsgroups and the Microsoft support site, and cannot find an instance of
this problem having been reported (at least not with any of my attempts to
word the question). Does the problem affect other Office products?
Reinstall may be the only option left.
