Can't Find Working Word Mail Merge Data Source

An end user asked me to help her find the data source a Word 2003 mail merge
document is using. This turned out to be harder than I expected. I looked
through the Mail Merge toolbar and the task pane. I did see on the task pane
a path to the data source, but It had the beginning and and end of the
complete path cut and mashed together. I thought I was looking at the
complete path until I tried to browse the path. Does anyone know where in
Word you may view the complete path to the data source?
Things I tried:
- Select recipients of Mail Merge task wizard
- Loaded Word doc in notepad to see the path

I did find the data document by looking at the files the user had open on
the file server, but I thought there has to be an way in Word.

Thanks

I was looking for the same thing. I use Access as the data source an
needed to find out which 'stored procedure' (Query) was being used

Sure enough, there is nothing 'revealed' within Word.

If you can find a Hex/Text display program, that's what I used. It is
lot of data, but if you are patient and go to the last 1/10 of the file
you will start to see the Full Path of the Data Source as well as th
SQL 'SELECT' statement that is being used (it all comes down t
SQL).:eek
