Can't get bodies of messages

Hi,

Using Outlook XP. When I am on a dial-up connection I set only download
headers over 50k. Either then (messages I actually want) or back on ADSL I
want to get the whole message. When I select to download message or double
click the line a message appears and the reference deletes. I have to go
back to web based mail to get the email (advantage of leave messages on
server enabled).
