can't get OL to work offline

Hi,

Im trying to configure OL2003 to work in cached mode, but
the option is greyed out, whether I'm accessing it from
within OL or through Control Panel after exiting OL.

I thought it had something to do with a corrupt OST file,
so i exited OL and renamed the file. Didn't work though.

OL starts up with the message it cant work offline.

Anyone with the magic trick to get the options enabled
for marking?
