Cant get rid of large bottom margin when printing

F

Fangfur

I cannot stop large unprintable borders around the edge of an A4 page. Have
adjusted settings in wordpad and in margins. New settings say the only border
should be 0.01cm at the bottom. This has made no difference. Border is much
larger at the bottom than the other sides. Any help gratefully received.

That could be a limitation of your printer. Check your owner's manual.

What happens when you set the margins to zero? Does your printer have a full bleed
option? How large is large?
Might adjust the top and sides of your publication to match the bottom margin, at
least you'd have a uniform look.

Mary,
Some models of printer or printer driver will report margins of 0.1 or 0.01
cm to WordPad, but actually have much larger unprintable margins.
I have experienced this firsthand, which is why I use the
horizontal/vertical line method.

If I were you I would at least put a small health warning on when
administering advice on using the WordPad method.

Ed, Even the Knowledge Base tells you to use WordPad

Maybe it is a UK printer driver thing. Or maybe an American coded the information and
didn't know, something like the Mars fiasco.

The best solution is to read the manual...

Something like this:
WARNING! This maybe the wrong information. Use it at your own risk...

So, are you starting college in the fall?

The knowledge base has been wrong before (and I have corrected it - although
that was a VBA issue at which I have a little more expertise).
So, are you starting college in the fall?

I am starting university in the autumn )

UK | US
College | Last two years of school, non-compulsory, working towards
externally-assessed A-level exams used to judge university entrance.

It used to be $0 per year with a grant of an amount I don't know.
Then it went to a loan.
Then a couple of years ago it went to a system of tuition fees (about
£1100/year - ~US$2100 per year), fixed for the length of the course.
When I start it will be £1175 (~US$2300) per year for each year of my
four-year course. I get a loan of about £3000 ($5700) per year. The year
afterward (starting September 2006) in England have to pay top-up fees of up
to £3000 (~US$5700) per year.

Not as much as has to be paid in the US, but seeing as it has always been a
free service and supports the future of our economy most students over here
are incensed.

Still cheap.

State University here in my state is about 8K a year for undergrad.

The university my son is attending is 42K a year..of course there's aid, grants, scholarship money..but it's still a killer. He may do a semester in London next year..can't wait to see what that's gonna cost.

Cheap is a relative term.
State University here in my state is about 8K a year for undergrad.

All universities in the UK cost the same at the moment, although Wales are
not introducing the top-up fees for another couple of years, and the top-up
fees allow variable fees up to the maximum of £3000.
The university my son is attending is 42K a year..of course there's
aid, grants, scholarship money..but it's still a killer. He may do a

cost.

Non-EU students in the UK pay full tuition fees, and accomodation in London
is on the expensive side, so the price might be comparable to the $42k that
you're paying in the US.

Send your son to Germany, my granddaughter is attending the university in Berlin, it
costs nothing. Well she has to pay for room and board and that sort of thing. She was
required to speak the language. She has now become a socialist and is trying to
become a citizen of Germany. She studied classical harp. She takes her Irish harp out
on the street with a cup and plays for handouts... Its déjà vu all over again...
