Can't get rid of the "Reviewing" Toolbar!!!

This is silly but I have not been able to locate the Help
item online:

Recently I used the Reviewing toolbar. I deselected it
when I opened Excel this morning, however, each time I
open a new file the taskbar reappears. How do I get rid
of the darn thing until I really need it?

Don't think I've had a problem with toolbars like you describe,
try the following if you have a personal.xls file for macros.

You toolbars are saved in *.xlb when Excel is closed.
Perhaps if you do nothing in Excel they don't get saved. I think
the toolbars file gets saved every time Excel is closed, but
try saving your file from Excel then exit Excel. Reopen Excel.
If that didn't work...

Try having only your personal.xls workbook open
unhide the personal.xls workbook with ...
Window (menu), unhide, personal.xls
turn off the reviewing toolbar: View, toolbars, uncheck/or click off reviewing toolbar
Exit Excel
open Excel
hide your personal.xls workbook so you can find your macros again
Window (menu), hide, personal.xls
