can't get same text to appear on each page's footer

Evan

I just converted a word perfect document to an .rtf, then I saved it as a
doc. When I go to add a footer, the text I add only shows up on the first
page. While the box for the footer shows up on each page, I have to manually
enter the text in each box to get it to show up on all pages, why is this?

While in the footer, Evan, you should see a button on the header/footer
toolbar that says "same as previous" or "link to previous". Turn that ON in
each footer. You can hit the Show Next button to then get to the next footer
and turn it on there.

FOOTERS DRIVING ME CRAZY...NEED ADVICE

I do this, and it works for the footer on the second page, after that, it
doesnt show up on any of the following pages. What is preventing word from
standardizing the footers on each page. I really need to find a solution for
this, it is very important. Even when I manually paste text, and close the
box, it doesn't show up

Hi. The thing about "same as previous" or "link to previous" is that it
links to the previous section OF THE SAME TYPE. So, suppose you have the doc
set up for different first page (file-page setup, layout)? Then, you do same
as previous, and it only works for the first page. Same thing goes for
different odd/even. If it's an odd page header, it's going to be the same as
the previous odd page header. Hope it helps!
