Can't get Word to stick with UK English spelling dictionary

P

Philip Herlihy

Although I was careful to specify only UK options when I installed and
configured Word 2002, I'm constantly getting warnings that words like
"honour" and "colour" are mis-spelt (when they really aren't over here!).
When I right-click the word, I can make the red wavy line go away if I then
select the UK dictionary, but it doesn't seem to remember - same thing next
time.

Any ideas?

On the status bar at the bottom of screen in Word 2002, where it says
English US, double click it. On the Language dialogue that appears, scroll
down or select from the listing English (U.K.), click the "Default" button
and click ok. Close Word and reopen.

Thanks, Andre,

When I opened Word tonight I checked this status item and it already says
"English UK" (although I've done what you say).

It seems to work now! I'd certainly attempted to set this in the Options
dialogue (I guess that's "dialog" in Jamaica!) but your suggestion seems to
have made it stick. Thanks!
