I tried to load my old copy of office xp onto a new computer. It says I
already registered it on another computer. (I know -that computer died) Do I
have to buy another copy of office?

No, the message states you already *ACTIVATED* it - not registered. I really
don't understand how people can confuse the two. The answer is "it depends".
If Office was supplied with your old system (OEM) then, no, you cannot. An
OEM licence lives and dies with the computer it was supplied with. Otherwise,
use the telephone activation method.

I'm glad I never bought a copy of XP!
