Can't inactive resources

Has anyone had this problem? I need to make resources inactive after they
leave the company. I don't get notification of this until after the user's
Windows account has been deactivated. Then I can't make any changes (like
making them incactive) because Project can't verify the Windows account and
won't let me save. Any ideas?

Have you tried the following process:

1. Open the Enterprise Resource Pool for editing and check out the resource
in question
2. Double-click the name of the resource
3. In the Resource Information dialog, clear the Windows Account
information and select the Inactive option
4. Click OK
5. Save and close the Enteprrise Resource Pool
