Can't Insert a Background in Visio 2003

In the past I have had no problem with inserting backgrounds from the stensil
list.

Today I have not been able to insert a background in an existing
organizaitonal diagram or an any new diagrams.

I can see the faint view of the diagram I've selected and drag it to either
the page 1, or the VBackground page.

It disappears, but blank white space covers the page grid background

The background does not show in the main page, or print preview or print.

XP Pro, Visio 2003.

I've searched and tried to carefully follow the microsoft procedure, but
still nothing.

Am I missing something simple???

I"ve also done a "repair" successfully

Maybe, it is because the option to enable automation events is set
accidentaly into unable. You can set again enable with menu Tools, Options,
and open tab to set details.

I checked the automation events and it is selected...
So that didn't do the trick.
Thanks for the feedback, Perhaps someone else has a clue why this is
happening, I am up to date on all the MS updates and fixes...

I may have fixed the problem, I checked the files on my laptop and the
backgrounds appeared normally.

I removed and reinstalled Visio 2003
I rechecked a file and found the background was very faintly visible, and
think it may be the basic contrast setting in my new monitor that is
"bleaching" out most of the background data.

I opened the Vbackground, selected the background and changed the formatting
slightly and it becomes visible normally.

I'm not sure if reinstalling helped or not, but in any event, it seems to be
ok now.

Thanks for helping...
