Can't Install Office 2000 on XP

CHRIS

I keep getting error messages when I try to install
Microsoft Office 2000 from my cd-roms. The errors say
that there is a problem with WINWORD8.DOC and to make
sure that the file exists and can be open. Well, the file
exists on the cd but it will not allow me to open it
saying that it is unable to open this file. My new
computer that I am having the problems on is a HP
Pavilion that came with XP and Corel 2000 already
installed on the computer and system restore disks.
On my old laptop that has Win98SE, Office installed
perfectly and still does as I have just tried it again. I
have even tried reinstalling everything from the restore
disks on my HP notebook but I am still unable to install
Office 2000. Obviously there is nothing wrong with the
disk if it installs perfectly on my old computer with
Win98SE.
Could this be a problem of having Corel already
installed on my notebook? Any suggestions would be
greatful.
Thanks
Chris
