Can't install Office XP

I can't install Office XP. It always fails when I insert an Office
Professional CD-ROM to prove that I do have a previous copy. I've tried
everything. I've even installed Windows XP on a different partition, and
then tried to install Office XP. Same result!

I've succesfully installed Office several times before. (Though on a
different machine) There is something drastically wrong, but I don't know
what it is. To prove that I am a previous owner of Office, I'm using the
CD-ROM for Microsoft Office '95 Professional: Disk 1, Installation Disk.

You failed to state what the error was. That would be minimum
requirement if someone was to help troubleshoot you problem.

It says that it can't find a previous installation of office.

According to that listing that Office for Windows 95 isn't a qualifying
version. So you need to get a qualifying version if you want to use the
upgrade.
