Can't install

I have an installed version 12.1.3 on my iMac and recently (today)tried to install 12.1.7 update and I get an error message that says "You cannot install Office 2008 12.1.7 on this volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume". Any ideas?

The very first error link of the page gives specifically states the error
you mentioned.

Install/Update Fails
There was nothing to update (A version of the software required to install
this update was not found on this volume.)
