can't load office 97 in windows xp

I am trying to load office 97 to my new computer running xp home version. This is an upgrade version which I have the key code and qualifing products (microsoft works) on my system. It keeps prompting me for a startup disk and says it cannot find qualifing products on my hard drive. I loaded this in to my old computer with no problem. Can anyone advise me what I can do?

If you have a current, later version of Works, this is not recognised as a
qualifying product, you need the earlier version cd/floppy, it doesnt have
to be installed, just point Off97 to the cd when installing.
