Can't Open a Word Doc in Office 97

When double click on Word 97, it starts to open ant then
minimizes and won't open. At the beginning it was
showing an error that said something like can't open
existing document"square. I looked at the Word 97
downloads and they said to download office 97 service
release 1. I downloaded that one and the service relase
value pac2. Nothing has worked yet! HELP!!!!!
