Can't open any attachments (Word, pdf...)

[help needed]

Hi...I can't seem to open any attachments (Word, pdf files, photos, etc.)
through my hotmail account, but can through my work account. I don't think
that my security is the problem because they open fine in my work e-mail.
Any help? Thanks

oh and i forgot to mention...i have an hp laptop with Windows Vista

Are you using web-based hotmail account or have you downloaded Windows
Livemail from MS website? Windows livemail is better in that it allows
you to read hotmail and other email accounts off-line. I suggest
download it from here:
