Can't open any Word documents

I get: "File xxxx is not available" for every single
document I try to open.

Then, when I try to close Word, I get: "The file
Normal.dot already exists. Would you like to replace the
existing file?"

Help, please!

First, Thank God, I'm not the only one.
Second, How do I disable the plug-in?

1. Open Norton AntiVirus (right-click on the Taskbar icon and choose this
option).

2. Click on the Options button at the top of the dialog.

3. In the Options dialog, click on Miscellaneous (menu on the left)

4. Clear the check box for "Enable Office Plug-in."

02/17/04 - I am getting this same error message when
trying to open WORD. I use SAVCE 8.1 and there is no
option to disable the Office plug-in. I've also
uninstalled/reinstalled Office XP but it did not help.
Any other suggestions?
