Can't open anything!

HI,
All of a sudden I can't open any of my Word documents
(Office 2003). If I convert them to wordpad I can read
them but I can't open anything else. I get "not
available." what's happened and how do I fix it?
Thanks,
Warren

If you are using Norton Anti Virus, open it and under Advanced Options clear
the Office Plug-in. Also, make sure that you have all the Office Patches
installed.

It isn't in Norton CE. But if you have ever had NAV installed, it often
leaves the guilty dll registered in Windows and cause the problem anyway. If
NAV has been on the computer try the following:

First search your local drive for: officeav.dll

If you find it then go to Start/Run and run the following command:

regsvr32 /u "<path>\officeav.dll"

Here is a KB article that provides a few additional details. As on the
Symantec site, it does not include information on Norton CE but it will
contain additional details on the unregister command if you need them:
