I am trying to find out why I received a certain message. On a G5 running
Panther in Mail: When trying to double click on a Word document email
attachment was getting a complaint as follows [that the document]: " is
being used by another user. Do you want to make a copy?" The options are
"Cancel" or "OK". When clicking on "OK" get a another dialog box: "Word
cannot open the document. Try one or more of the following: *On the File
menu, click Open to open the document. * Make sure the document is a
valid Word document.". I got the same message with a known good Word
document created as a test file. I logged out and shutdown the machine
then restarted and logged back into the users account. This time I did not
have any problems opening the email attachment! Confused at this point as
to whether this was a security violation and I need to change the users
password or Word reported the error inaccurately. Thanks.
