Can't open documents - files not available

Ok - same problem as before - I can't open a single
document in Word XP. And yes, I've completely
uninstalled Norton Anti-Virus, but still can't open any
files.

Finally, even though no files will open, I still get a
message when closing out Word: "normal.dot already
exists. Would you like to save normal?" or something
similar.

Help, please! I beg you! Matt

Try this:

First search your local drive for: officeav.dll

If you find it then go to Start/Run and run the following command:

regsvr32 /u "<path>\officeav.dll"

Mr. Farrell,
I had the same problem. I tried your suggestion and it
fixed it.
Many Thanks!
Kevin

Mr. Farrell,
P.S. I noticed you were in the RAF. Ever been to
Lakenheath? I was there '92-'95.
Cheers,
Kevin

Nope. I was a Comms techie. Mostly served Comm Centres or TX/RX sites. Also
retired from RAF in 1978!
