Can't open email attachments or power point any longer

Got new Compaq computer in February 2009 that came with Windows Vista Home
Premium (Service Pack 2). I bought Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007,
which includes Word, Excel, Power Point and OneNote and have Zone Alarm
Security Suite. Everything worked great until early last week (week of
6/15). All of a sudden I could no longer open email attachments - message
says, "This file could not be found" or Power Point attachments - message
says, "Power Point can't read". As far as the email attachments go -- I can
click on "save attachments" and it is saved to my New Folder file and can
then be opened from there. We are on Time Warner Road Runner Cable Internet
Explorer and use Windows Mail (came on computer). Everything else seems to
be working well, do not know what changed. Although they have been on since
the beginning and working well, I have tried to shut off my fire wall, turned
off my antivirus, everything I can think of to do. Have run all the scans,
nothing found. I run a small home based business and get email attachments
daily so this is kind of a pain. Can anyone help me?

As of one or another security update, that's the way it works now.
You can no longer open the attachments from within Outlook.

1. Can I change my emails back to Outlook Express like it use to be?
2. What is happening with my Power Point? I thought when you had the
Power Point program on the computer, it would open PP attachments.

Probably not, at least not unless you can track down which update changed it.
I don't really know ... I don't use Outlook or OE.

Like I said ... a security update changed that. It no longer works that way.
