Can't open hypertext links

Can anyone tell me why I'm unable to double-click on
hypertext links within e-mail messages sent to me.
Instead of opening my browser, nothing happens. The only
way I'm able to use the link is to right-click and "save
to favorites."

I thought I should be able to double-click and have the
site automatically load to the browers.
