Can't open .mdb file from network using Access 2000 on WinXP

Hi all,
Please help me if you can.
We have app that works fine from the network drive using Access 2000 on
Windows 2000 PC. However, when we open it by clicking on the file or
shortcut from Win XP machine that has Office 2K installed, nothing
happens.

what are the properties of the shortcut? If you open Access2000
directly and use File... Open to open the database directly, do you
get any error messages?

When I use file-open, there is no any errors at all.
Also, there is no error when I open the file from recent list of open
files from Access (open existing file). I found that this issue is
related to the files already open by another user(s).
