Help, No matter what office document I'm in, if I browse for files to open I
lock up. up. If I go to my computer and click on the file then it will open
in the correct office document. If I try to save as it locks up. I did all
the updates. I recently installed Norton 2006 antispyware. However, this
didn't start happening till a few days later. Any suggestions??????????

The question has been answered here several times today. Look backwards
and you will find the solution, which is to remove a defective Microsoft
security update that was released on Tuesday (and which was
automatically installed if you have automatic live updates turned on).

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! I had read a post earlier that said to do
system restore, however, that didn't work as updates are not seen as changes
that restore can go back to. I did find your earlier post, with step by step
instructions. It worked like a charm. :)

Ok I did that last night and now I can open office documents, however, I'm
locking up in save. Is there another security update to delete?

OMG I hope not

I'm about to rearrange a stack of 4 hard drives in the hope to cool one
down thinking it may somehow be related (see my post about Word sulking)

I went and checked the control panel for updates, and low and behold the
Kb908531 was BACK! I removed it again, but fear with automatic updates it's
just going to keep coming back.

Yes, with automatic updates it will keep coming back.
