Can't open office documents from network share with 2007

I can't open Office documents from a Windows Werver 2003 share with Office
2007 running on Windows Vista.

The Vista build is 6.0.5384 Vista Ultimate

At first the error was "Cannot open (followed by the share name)"
I then went into the security policy and turned off UAC and other network
security.
The message now is "Access Denied. Contact your Administrator"
However I can copy the file to my PC and then open it. One of the curious
things about copying the file is that it copies it once, then immediately
tries to copy over the first copy. The second copy fails with an access
denied. If I cancel the second copy the first remains and I can open it.
