Can't Open Office Documents - Parameter is Incorrect

I suddenly don't seem to be able to open Word or Excel docs. with a double
click or with a right click and Open. I get an error message saying "The
parameter is incorrect". However, if I first open Word, then click open and
browse for the doc., I can open it. Once Word is open, I can open any docs.
by double clicking on them. Any ideas?

Hi Slcuster

Your registry might be corrupted.
The best way to fix it, is to reinstall Office - either a repair or
reinstall as original.
Another way ( but not as clean) is to manuel associate the fileextensions to
the program.
The metode differs from Windows XP and Windows Vista.
