I just upgraded to WinXP Professional with Word 2002 (on
a new HP; the software was provided by OEM). I find that
I can't open ANY of the Word documents I created in older
versions of Word (Word 97 or Word 2000). When I do try to
open these older Word files, I get the following error
message:
The document name or path is not valid. Try these
suggestions:
*Check the file permissions ...
However I try to open these files (on my desktop), I get
this error messages. Needless to add, I've got thousands
of these older .doc files that I need to open and use.
Any suggestions?
