Can't open saved Word 2000 docs

Hi

A client of mine is unable to open previously saved docs
in Word 2000. If he tries this he gets a Winword error
and Word shuts down.

I have tried cleaning temporary files and typing
winword /r in Start Run with him but it doesn't seem to
have fixed this. All he can see when he goes to open
these documents are lots of temp files stored with the
ones he is trying to open. Does anybody have any other
ideas?

I thought you'd cleaned out the temp files?

Try this in word go to Help - hit detect and repair....this should fix your problem.

The reason behind this is even after wiping all temp
files they are created every f-ing time he goes to open
one of these documents!

Temp files are perfectly normal for Word, but if the documents are closed
correctly, the temp files close too.

Has your client got Norton Anti Virus? Open NAV and disable the Office
Plug-in under options.
