"Can't Open This Item. Need A Positive Duration"

I can not get rid of a particular appointment. The reminder dialog box
opens each time I start OL03 with the same reminder. When I click "Dismiss"
I get the error dialog: "Cannot turn off the reminder. You may be reminded
again. Could not complete the operation. One or more of the parameters are
invalid."

Then, when I try to click on the reminder on the calendar view I get the
error "Can't open this item. Need a positive duration." How do I get rid
of this reminder?
