Can't open web in live mode on server

Attempting to password protect a subweb in Frontpage2000. Apparently I need
to open my web in live mode by signing onto the server. In order to do this I
need to open the web folder in the network neighborhood section of the open
window and open the web folder that corresponds to my server. The problem is
I have not been able to create this folder in the new network neighborhood
wizard. I have not found the correct web address to work and my support team
has not been very helpful. I am at my wits end. Does anyone have any other
ideas or are there any othert software packages that work with frontpage
where I could by-pass this live mode action?

If you have published to the server, then use
File->Open Web or File->Open Site (depends on version of FrontPage)
Type in the URL you publish to.
FrontPage will create the web folder for you.

you need to be able to use the FPSE to open your site "live". Your host
must allow subwebs and password protection subwebs.

I have tried this as well and I get an error message that states that this
folder does not exist.

Thanks for your reply. All of this is established. I simply cannot get a web
folder created in my network neighborhood to open the live session.

Try doing either of the following:

Browse the site in IE, then use File Menu | Edit Site with FP

or

From FP, File Menu | Open Web / Site and enter the URL in the following format
http://www.yourdomain.com
