Can't print to HP Photosmart 8052

I have installed the printer and it works great when printing from the camera
or other device such as memory stick. Microsoft Office will not recognize
that the printer is there. I can't print from the Internet Explorer, Word or
Excel. I know the solution is probably something very simple. If anyone can
help I would appreciate it very much.

Did you install it as per HP instructions or did you simply plug it in?
Any way not really an Office question

Yes, I installed it according the HP instructions. The printer works great.
Its Microsoft Office that does not recognize it as being installed. The
printer works great when printing from the camera. I can not print from
Internet Exporer or any Microsoft software. HP said to contact Microsoft.

And if in an Office application you select File>Print, does it bring up a
box with your HP printer selected or what?

But that's when you plugged the camera or the memory stick directly into the
printer, no computer involved, isn't it?

I'd say HP is shirking their duty but let that be.

Click Start, Control Panel and doubleclick Printers and Faxes (assuming this is
Windows XP or previous). Is there an icon for your printer there? If so,
right-click it, choose Properties from the popup menu and click the Print Test
Page button. Does a page print?

If not, or if there's no icon for the printer in Printers and Faxes, the printer
isn't properly installed in Windows. Until it is, you can't print anything from
ANY program.

And if that's the case, given how ... um ... I'm going to be kind here ... ODD
some of HP's install procedures are, you may need to get back in touch with them
for install help. You'd want to tell them you need help installing a printer
driver for Windows.

Of course, if it DOES print a test page, it's a different story.
