can't publish in http

R

Ron in Washington

When I try to publish a web to a remote server I type the address e.i.
http://www.domainname.com then hit publsih and the address is immediately
changed to ftp://www.domainname.com in the publish box. I am using 2002 and
have tried two different hosting services and they both provide the same
results.

I have tryed uploading using ftp but when viewing the page certain items are
missing or incorrect.

Any help would be appreciated by this newbe to web publishing

You must have FrontPage extensions on your host to publish via http://.
Check with your host to ensure the extensions are installed and configured.
Some FP components will not work with ftp or without the FP extensions.

I I have tried 2 different servers, have had them uninstall and reinstall the
extensions, I have re-booted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled
FrontPage, and the problem is still there. I am using FP2002 Ver
10.2623.2625, running on a HP 2.7 computer.
