can't Publish Slides to SP Slide Lib

R

Rob S

Hello,

I have set up a slide library on our MOSS site. I am trying to publish
slides into that library from PowerPoint, just like what's described in
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/HA012261671033.aspx. However,
inside PowerPoint, I don't have the option to "Publish Slides" under
"Publish".

Also, from MOSS, if I click on Upload > Publish Slides, I get a PowerPoint
error saying "This feature requires Microsoft Office PowerPoint
Professional", which I definitely have.

Has anyone been successful with this.

Many thanks in advance,

Rob

Hi rob,

Darn fangled technology!

Do you actually have a Slide Library List that you can publish to? Have a
look at these, or the SharePoint 2007 help file for more info.

Hi Glen,

Thanks for your replies and the links. Yes, I set up a slide library list.
Additionally, in my test environment, I am an administrator for everything.
I had read your first link and all of the help files that I could find (both
PPT & SP). The second link I hadn't read yet but my symptom doesn't exactly
match with the one it's describing: I don't even get the Publish Slides
dialog box that it is referring to - and that's my problem.

Essentially, I can't "push" the slides from PowerPoint due to the Publish
Slides problem nor can I "pull" them in from SharePoint due to the
version-related error msg I get.

Rob,
Did you get anywhere on this? I remember running into similar problems when
testing MOSS, but need to dig out my notes to find out how we solved it. If
you still need help, post back and I will see what I can find.

Kathy,

No, I didn't get anywhere on this; I still get the same problems. Any help
would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I believe the problem is your version of Office. You need to be running
Office Ultimate or Office Enterprise in order to publish to a SharePoint
slide library. The message about not running Professional is wrong.

That was it! I found another machine w/Office Enterprise installed and got
it working as advertised. Thanks Bruce!
