Can't read using Outlook 2003?

I'm running XP Pro SP2. Up until yesterday I had been running Office XP Pro
(aka Office 2002) with zero problems.

Yesterday, 1/4/06, I did an upgrade install of Office 2003. The install went
smoothly,
I thought. Launched Outlook; the PST file appeared was intact, PAB too, and
all
the settings; except I only got headers (no text) in the read pane.

Today, I un-installed Office 2003 & deleted the Office11 directory.
Re-installed
Office XP Pro. All the text was present.

So then I un-installed 2003 and deleted its Office10 directory; and
proceeded to
do a clean install of Office 2003. Same issue. The e-mail come through, I
can preview
the first few lines, but no text beyond headers in the the read pane.

What am I missing here? I believe I've check & double checked just about
every
option.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

when you say "only headers" you mean just in the reading pane - you do have
the full message downloaded, correct?

Yes, just the headrers, "From:, To:, Subject: ", in the reading pane.

At this point I've regressed the system to Office XP/2002 and those e-mails
I opened under 2003 have been altered - everything except the header
has been deleted.

Office 2003 was installed with the both the firewall and antivirus disabled.

The system was regressed with Norton Persoanl Firewall 2006 & Norton
Systemworks enabled and under Office XP/2002; I've got no issues. To me
it appears to be Office 2003 that's the culprit.
