can't record sound in OSX???

Powerpoint OfficeX won't record sound for me. I can record sound using other
software and then import it but why won't PP record? Is this a bug?

I have Service Release 1 installed. Is there something more I should be doing?

It works OK for me. What is your hardware setup (CPU, microphone, etc.)?
