Can't reinstall MS Office 2000 - Product Key rejected as invalid.

It was installed once on the first hard drive. I've reinstalled Microsoft
Office 97, and then tried to reinstall MS Office 2000, but I get only as far
as "Enter the Product Key."
As careful as I've been in typing in the 25 characters, it keeps coming
back, "Invalid Product Key."
