Invalid Product Key on Word 2007

I received a new HP laptop for Christmas this year. I've been using my
Office Word by skipping the product key entry because the first time I used
it, it came up invalid. As I realized I could go around it, I used my Word
normally, not really thinking about the product key. Now that I have used it
the 25 times it allows a person to without a product key, I am trying to put
the product key located at the bottom of my laptop.

I apparently have the wrong key. The code that I keep typing and checking
continues to tell me that it is an invalid key. What can I do?

The key on your Laptop case is for Win, as it says on the label
If your HP came with office installed, then unless you paid extra for Office
its a Trial version

If Word is being used from the Works program, then ask HP were they put the
key, or examine your documentation and any cd's provided when you purchased
