Can't Remove Calendar Filter

N

Neil

Is Outlook the lamest software ever made?? I did a search on my Calendar in
Outlook 03 and it filtered the calendar for the results. I closed Outlook
without first clicking Clear. Now, going back into Outlook, it says "(Filter
Applied)" at the top; but the Clear button is grayed out. So I can't remove
the filter! And there's no "Remove Filter" option on the menus. So it's so
confused, it doesn't even know that it's filtering the calendar, even though
it says "(Filter Applied)" at the top! How lame is that?

so I tried doing a search within the filtered results, figuring, this way
I'd get my Clear button back. And I did! After doing a search, I was able to
click Clear. However, clicking Clear only brought me back to my original,
filtered set, not to the whole calendar.

Uggggh!!!

When you use Search while in a Day/Week/Month view, it switches to a table
view. You need to reapply the Day/Week/Month view. Look on the view menu.

G'day

Another little idea, to make it easier to see which view you are in, turn on
the Advanced Toolbar. It will save you many clicks! You will see the
Current View window all the time.

This was helpful only in that I am experiencing the same problem. What's the
solution??? thanks.

Tried solution (sigh) and the 'Day Week Month' buttons still do not show up.

Marion

Your post helped me to keep searching.

Here's the 'workaround' when icons don't appear. While in Calendar View,
click on menu option 'View', 'Arrange By' and check 'Show Views in Navigation
Pane'. Then you can switch back and forth between the table view and you
desired option.

New Issue: After closing and reopening Outlook, how can I make it save the
'desired option' I previously selected? It keeps going back to table view.
Thanks.

if outlook is closing completely it should save the last used view.

Make sure Outlook is not listed in Task Manager, Processes tab. If it is
running, figure out why it's running. See
http://www.slipstick.com/problems/close.asp. if its not, try resetting the
view.

Here are the instructions: go under "View" there should be a drop down menu that appears. Choose "Arrange By", Another drop down menu will appear, choose ?Current View", form her you will see another menu that will show which view you are now currently in, and offer other views for you to choose such as "date week, month" and so on.

Hope this helps

Go to Microsoft Office help (if you can stomach it-but it well documented) and:

In Calendar, on the View menu, point to Arrange By, point to Current View, and then click Day/Week/Month View With AutoPreview.

That will fix your problem. It worked for me...after searching for probably an hour. Good luck! Tim
